About this tool

Cameras and phones embed hidden data in photos: GPS coordinates, the exact time, the device model, camera settings. Direct sharing — email, messaging apps, your own website — keeps all of it. This tool decodes the image and re-encodes it from the pixels only, so the standard metadata blocks are not carried across. It is a practical clean-up, not forensic-grade sanitisation.

How to use it

3Select Create clean copy — the image is redrawn and re-encoded from its pixels.
4Check that the dimensions match the original, then download the clean copy.

The output keeps the source format where the browser supports it (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG). WebP falls back to PNG only if your browser cannot encode WebP.
The scan lists common blocks — EXIF, GPS, XMP, text chunks — so you can see what was there. It is a summary, not a full metadata viewer.

Most large platforms strip or reduce it on upload, but not consistently or completely, and direct sharing methods keep it intact. Strip it yourself for anything sensitive rather than relying on a platform.

Will removing metadata change how my photo looks?

No. Dimensions and the visible image stay the same. If the copy is re-encoded as JPG there may be a tiny, normal compression difference, but nothing you would notice.
